Everyone is obsessed with the embroidery trend…including me. It’s such a fun look, because it can be anywhere from pretty to edgy. I love it on anything from tops to denim minis (check out my blog post on how to style a denim mini), but I found a pretty off-the-shoulder dress with some beautiful embroidery that I wanted to share with you. This exact dress is only available in blue right now, but I’ll link a few similar dress options below in black if that’s more your style!
Did anyone else learn to embroider growing up? My mom would get my sister and I scraps of fabric and an embroidery hoop and have us practice. I think it was just something to keep us busy while she actually got stuff done, but either way I do remember that little embroidery hoop.
We definitely did not create anything THIS pretty…we mostly embroidered shapes and letters, but it does give me an appreciation for the art of embroidery. Those are the first times I really remember trying to be artistic and creating something, and I think it was really good for my little brain. It got me into drawing and eventually writing as a teenager, so being a little artistic at a young age really set me up to eventually do this.
I love this dress – so summery, light, and fun. It’s so perfect for summer evenings. I wore it with these amazing Dolce Vita sandals (wearing these on repeat) and some perfect and festive accessories. Seriously, this pretty dress is just perfect with these sandals…but then again these sandals are perfect with pretty much everything.
This look can go from day to night easily and is seriously so comfortable. Look at the lace detail at the hems and bell sleeves of this dress…its seriously the whole package. The blue color I linked above is really pretty, but I have to say the black dress with embroidery is really the best of both worlds – a fun summer casual that can easily be dressed up for a night out. I also LOVE that it is off the shoulders.
If you haven’t gotten your embroidery fix yet, now is the time to start! Embroidery is not going anywhere and will still be on trend for fall, so don’t worry – you’ll be able to enjoy this look for the rest of the year! Plus, I am not a fan of buying into trends that don’t age well and end up gathering dust in the back of your closet, so this look is a keeper!
I linked a ton of embroidered dresses below that I thought were beautiful, and a few links for that Dolce Vita sandal for sizing (guys, buy it, you won’t regret it!). Hurry up on these sandals, they are selling out super fast and on sale at most retailers! And if you missed my post on Fourth of July style tips, check it out for TONS of links to some fun holiday looks! You still have time to order clothes and have them get here in time for the celebration! Happy shopping! Don’t forget to sign up for emails above!
