Happy Monday! I’m so excited to be sharing this sweater dress with you because it is ADORABLE and so flattering! The perfect easy piece to get you through these chilly winter days while looking cute (and with room to put away some serious Christmas cookies without anyone noticing)!
First, I’ve got to tell you about my weekend. I feel like every time I go out on the town, I get a real slap in the face with how I cannot handle it as well as I used to. Like, I’m starting to feel really old. I had a few glasses of wine and BOOM I’m useless the next day…or two.
We went to Sheldon’s holiday party on Saturday night, which was SO FUN. We started off at Hakkasan in San Francisco and had some amazing food (and drink). I stuck with champagne and white wine throughout the night. I know, some of you are thinking: “Ashley, you’re so dumb! Champagne is headache city!” And yes, most people get awful headaches the morning after champagne. I typically do not suffer from this…champagne is my comfort zone. My safe place.
I thought I was being so wise by sticking to one type of alcohol. Anyway, then we swung by the MASSIVE party (like so massive, they filled up an entire Pier building on the San Francisco wharf). Several dance floors, like five bars. Quite the shindig.
Then we stopped at a really cool bar. It was young and trendy, but this was when the feeling of “I’m too old for this” really started setting in. My feet started hurting, I got sleepy, and there were just so many people there. I just wanted to go home and cuddle with the dog. Has anyone else had this? At a super fun place, but just desperately want to take your make up off and go cuddle under the covers?
So we do that, we go home, and we didn’t get up until 11 am, which is so late for us. We’re usually out of bed around 8 on weekends, so we really needed it. This was the next moment I felt old: I felt so sick, I couldn’t eat. Like, why am I failing at adulting so bad? LOL. Anyway, that’s why I’m starting to feel like an old fogey. I can’t handle my champagne like I used to and all I want to do is go home and nap. Please tell me someone else feels this way!
BOW SLEEVE SWEATER DRESS
Anyway, back to this super cute sweater dress! This dress flows so well. It isn’t boxey or shapeless, yet it is so flattering on any body type. The best part is: no sucking in after those crazy large holiday meals. Eat all the cookies, it’s Christmas! I absolutely love this charcoal color, but it also comes in a super clean and classy ivory color, and this super pretty red color.
I also love this dress because it will transition from Christmas-time reds into spring pastels so well. And the ties on the sleeves are such a sweet, feminine detail. I’m wearing this dress with these pretty black over the knee boots that are SO comfy and 33% off! They also come in a couple other colors, too!
My exact scarf is from a couple years ago, but I found an identical one from Red Dress Boutique. I also found some identical purses to this one I got from Italy a few months back, especially this pretty woven tassel bag.
Make sure to catch up on my recent posts and gift guides! I have a TON of options rounded up on my Gift Guide for Her and on my Gift Guide for Him. I also reviewed this pretty, fuzzy sweater from Target that’s so budget friendly AND this fun white puffy vest. And if you’re loving this sweater dress, check out another fave: this blush sweater dress.
