Everyone needs a good menswear blazer…so I wanted to share this beauty with you all! BTW, how’s your first week of 2018 going? Anyone sticking with resolutions? Remember my resolutions post…even if you fall down, don’t give up! Life happens, but keep trying to live your best life…because you’ll get it, I believe in you!
Something about the month of January feels like such a blank slate. It’s like a reset button. But, quite honestly, it probably just feels that way because I was so freaking frazzled during December trying to get Christmas together. So now January feels amazingly calm. Either way, I’ll take it, and I’m definitely going to try to keep this calm mentality as long as I can. We’ll see how that goes.
My resolutions update: not too much to say yet. Haha. I went on my first run of 2018 yesterday…just shy of two miles! Not bad. I’m doing well on getting ready for bed, but still not getting to sleep until a little too late, so some improvements needed there for sure! Something I need to do: Print out my resolutions and tape them up somewhere. And I know, you’re thinking, “I don’t want a sloppy piece of paper hanging up in my home cluttering up my life with my resolutions on it.” I feel ya. But, HOT TIP coming your way…
My mom does this thing where she tapes paper inside of her cabinets. So inside of her kitchen cabinets, she tapes up little instructions for some of her appliances, or anything else she needs to remember. So, I was thinking I would tape my resolutions on the inside of my medicine cabinet…that way I’ll see them every morning and every evening and they won’t clutter up my space. I KNOW YOU’RE WELCOME.
The only way to follow that incredible tip is with a boss babe look and attitude…enter, this blazer. This new year, I’m practicing not caring what people think. By that, I mean I’m practicing being okay with myself and being confident with who I am. When I say I am trying not to care what people think, I really mean I’m trying to be myself and not let fear of judgement from others guide me. Harder said than done.
This outfit makes me feel super confident. Let’s start with this blazer. I love the boxy cut of it (it’s somehow sexy while being boxy…I think it’s magic)…it’s a new take on the classic blazer and is so chic. Plaid is also a HUGE trend for spring and summer, and this subtle pattern with the rolled up sleeves looks is a pretty take on 90’s flash-back style without getting even close to the dreaded Miami Vice look. Whenever I think of that look, I remember that episode of Friends where they flash-back on Ross and Chandler’s style in college (the episode where Monica accidentally cuts off Chandler’s toe…oops). This perfect blazer is sold out, but I found this identical plaid blazer for you to shop here! Shop the widget below for about a million other picks!
BLAZERS & MORE
I paired this blazer with a super simple and easy outfit, basics you probably already have! If you don’t I love these tees by Zsupply…they are the most flattering EVER and super light and drapey (but not clingy). I did a whole post on my favorite tees, and these are at the top of the list! I’m also wearing this PERFECT pair of high-waisted black jeans from Madewell. They are seriously the best jeans I own…keep everything supported (and tight) while being super comfortable! HIGHLY recommend if you’re looking for some great black denim. I’ve blogged about them a ton! I’ve worn the with a cozy beanie and scarf, this suede lace-up top, and all over my Instagram. This pair of black ankle booties is from last year, but I found a super similar pair of sleek booties here.

Let me know if the comments if there are any trends this spring and summer that YOU are looking forward to. Me? I think I’m most looking forward to a couple bold colors being in style, like yellow and lavender. I’m also so excited about the floral trend still going strong!
Talk to you later!
