Happy Thursday everyone! Hope your week is finishing off nicely! I’m so excited for this weekend and hanging out with old friends…if you want to follow along, follow me on the socials and check my Instagram stories (follow me here). Teaser: I’ll be on a boat trying my hand at deep sea fishing, so that will for sure be entertaining…I’m just hoping to not get sea sick! The outfit I’m styling here would be PERFECT for a boat ride (more like a fancy yacht maybe, not a deep-sea fishing boat) and is such a clean, chic summer look. Read on for deets, guys.
…the Nordstrom Sale is still ON. To those of you who didn’t have early access to the Nordstrom Sale, happy N-sale Eve! Public access to the sale begins on Friday, July 21. Some things are selling out, but keep your eyes peeled for re-stocks! I’ll try to help out and alert you on the ‘gram, too! Check out my early N-sale recon here and my little fashion show of some of my favorite purchases here. It was a great sale with SO many basics, so keep your eye out for some new styles to covet this fall. Seriously, I’ve done about 3 rounds of shopping for this sale, so I’ve got all the research done for you…all you have to do is click “add to cart,” LOL.
Style This White-on-White Ensemble
As obsessed as I am with this sale, let’s get back to this beautiful outfit. I used to be so intimidated by styling a monochromatic look, particularly a white-on-white style. When done well, it can look so chic and effortless, but I used to always worry about looking too matchy-matchy. I’ve found that the most important part of styling an all-white outfit is finding pieces that make you feel confident and comfortable. I find that starting with a super flattering pair of white jeans is the best foundation to a flawless white-on-white look.
This pair of white jeans is snug but also flattering. I love the ripped knees to give them a little more detail and texture. This pair I snagged from a local boutique, but I’ve linked some similar options here. To make this look even more casual and effortless, try styling it with a pair of white boyfriend jeans, like this pair from Lucky Brand (one of my favorite brands for jeans). Lucky Brand always has a flattering fit with the perfect amount of stretch…I also recommend trying out their Lolita and Charlie cuts (straight, skinny jeans), which I’ve linked here in a white wash.
Next, a comfortable, flowing tank – light and perfect for these hot summer months. I love this Free People tank (comes in multiple colors). I also own this pretty tank (also Free People) with a henley detail, which would go great with this monochromatic look. Both are super soft are flattering either free-flowing or tucked in. I love a pretty belt for this look, too. My go-to is this belt from Target, but I just spied this pretty knotted belt that has caught my attention (I might have to pick this one up!).
I paired it with these casual sandals I picked up from Target last year, but this Dolce Vita pair is super similar (and from a great brand, too). I’m also eyeing these Topshop leopard print sandals that would jive with this style. I wear these sandals all the time, so I definitely recommend you find that pair of neutral sandals to complement your easy-breezy summer looks.
I got this kimono from a local boutique (it’s since sold out), but I am crushing on this sheer blue kimono from Forever 21 that’s under $30. I also found this pretty blue striped dolman sleeve kimono from Anthropologie that’s currently on sale for less than $60 (marked down from $100).
I also wanted to share the simple jewelry I’m wearing with this look. I decided to go with all silver to complement this classy, chic look. My bangle is an engravable piece from Stella & Dot (this one has my hubby’s, my dog’s, and my name on it), and it’s also available in gold and rose gold. I’ve found myself wearing this puppy all the time. I’m also wearing my Signature Engravable Delicate Necklace layered with this super pretty silver pendant. These sparkle studs are also always a perfect addition to any look.
Hopefully after reading through this, styling a beautiful white-on-white ensemble feels easy for you! It’s a super easy way to feel chic and classy with MINIMAL effort! Perfect for a summer night out for drinks, and you can pair it block heel sandals for a date night. This look can also transition easily to fall – switch out the kimono for a cardigan and the sandals for ankle booties and poof! You’re ready for fall! Remember, check out my last post if you want to look into some pretty cardigans and booties for fall and don’t forget to check out the Nordstrom sale…you won’t regret it!
