Is there anything better than a picnic? I don’t think so! I know it’s Monday, but I’m already dreaming of the next weekend, and I think I need to start adding picnics into my regular weekend schedule! I mean, sunshine, blankets, wine…what more do you need!? I wanted to share this picnic in the park from a few weeks ago and this gorgeous pajama top with you all!
This picnic was next-level. We went to the Presidio Picnic in San Francisco a few weeks back, and it was such a good time. My favorite part was all of the food trucks surrounding the picnic area. Any kind of food you could ever want was there! As any outdoor event in San Francisco, layers are necessary. You just never know if you are going to be freezing or sweating, so you’ve got to be prepared!
This outdoor space was so gorgeous! We had a view of the San Francisco Bay and were in the historic Presidio. It was such a pretty spot, and I can’t wait to go back. I also loved being completely surrounded by food trucks (yum), and there were a couple outdoor bars that were open bright and early (hello bloody mary). I highly recommend you hit this event up if you are local…we can’t believe we haven’t been doing this more often! It’s so fun!
Like I said, you have to layer when going out in San Francisco. I picked up a lot of these pieces at the Nordstrom sale, but most of the pieces have been restocked and are now available again (thank goodness). The only thing that is currently still sold out is this pretty pajama-inspired top I’m wearing, but don’t worry, I found this super cute pajama set with a similar top. Here’s another pajama set, except this one has a black top and white trim.
I’m also wearing this super cozy (and warm) cardigan from Barefoot Dreams. It was just perfect for layering over this button-up top and for the bipolar weather in the city. I must have taken it on and off about fifteen times (those of you who spend any time in San Francisco know what I’m talking about). Seriously, this sweater is soooo soft, I can’t wait to buy more cardigans from this brand. I have my eye on this circle knit cardigan next!
I wear these Madewell jeans almost twice per week. I love the button-fly, and they are the perfect high-rise. Madewell denim is one of my obsessions, and I’ve never been disappointed by any of their jeans! I talked about my favorite summer jeans they make a couple weeks ago, so you can probably tell my obsession with them is pretty intense.
I got these booties from the Nordstrom sale and love them. So comfortable with perfect perforations, and they also come in black. These booties will be great for transitioning to fall, and work well with jeans and sundresses alike.
The weekend before this picnic, I went deep sea fishing and got one of those super annoying sun burns in my part (OUCH), so I learned from my mistakes and grabbed a hat. I bought this Halogen hat last year and use it a ton. It’s perfect for wine tasting, walks outside, and picnics, of course! It’s also a great way to protect you head, face, and neck from the sun. I listened to one of my favorite podcasts Stuff You Should Know recently, and they talked all about sunscreen and sun protection. It inspired me to be even better about protecting myself from the sun. I’m working on a blog post about that and my favorite self tanners in the coming weeks, so look out for it!
How is it only Monday?
Hope your Monday is going well! Get to planning that weekend picnic…I promise, you’ll have so much fun! Have any black tie events coming up? Don’t forget to check out my last post with tips on how to dress for those formal affairs. Also, anyone else have SERIOUS OPINIONS about The Bachelorette Finale? I’ve totally flipped on my pick (I blogged about it last week) and now am SO SAD she didn’t pick Peter! I mean, they love each other! Ugh, I can’t get into it again. At least Bachelor in Paradise is on tonight!
