I’m so ready for sweater weather! The calendar says it’s fall, now I just need these temperatures to get on board! It’s been in the 80’s this weekend here in California, so we’re still not able to full-on transition to fall yet. All of my sweaters have been pulled out of their storage boxes (their homes for the summer) and are just waiting to be worn…how much longer will this heat last?
I’m just way more comfortable in a sweater. I don’t know about you, but the more layers I can wear the better. Don’t get me wrong, a good sundress is great for spring, but I’m never more myself than when I’m layering up with sweaters for colder weather.
These transitional months are tough! The mornings are cold and the afternoons are hot, so you need a good in-between outfit. This pretty look is perfect for that! You can cozy up in the morning and peel off a sweater layer for a warmer afternoon.
The other thing I love about this look is how effortlessly it blends so many trends for fall. The lacy, sultry camisole with super cozy and oversized cardigan is on trend for fall, and these shoes? I mean, these shoes are just the best. I get stopped by people when I wear them because they are so cute. The best part? They are less than $23! Shop them [ HERE ]. You won’t regret it! I also like these pretty blue velvet flats [ HERE ]. They’re also adorable AND also under $23! Target is killing it right now with their flats!
Pretty, budget-friendly lace-trimmed camis have been tough to find! I remember the ones included in the Nordstrom Anniversary sale a few months ago sold out so fast. I’ve picked out two of my favorites (more linked in the widget below) to talk to you about. This pretty one from Bp. is one of my new favorites, take a look [ HERE ]. It has the pretty lace-trimmed detail, plus a bit of a mixed-media vibe going with the shiny and matte silk. It’s loose but super flattering, and under $40! I also love the pretty little number from Soprano [ HERE ]. It has a fun lace cutout right under the bra line that is a little edgy while still being sweet and girly.
The cardigan I’m wearing here is old from Anthropologie (nabbed it at an end of season sale for a super discount last year!), but I’ve linked a bunch of super similar options below. I love pairing the lace cami with a big, cozy, oversized sweater to make the outfit more interesting (and comfortable). This pretty Treasure & Bond sweater [ HERE ] totally fits the bill…it’s oversized and effortless while still being chic. It’s a sweater you can have for years and is under $100.
My jeans are my all-time favorite brand, Madewell. I’ve linked them [ HERE ] for you! No lie, I wear these jeans at least twice per week. I have a ton of jeans, but I keep going back to this pair. The high waist is perfect (I mean let’s be realistic, Thanksgiving is coming up and I need something to cinch me in a bit, lol). Madewell jeans are just all so darn flattering! I highly recommend trying them if you haven’t. They’ve always been true to size for me.
I snagged my Rebecca Minkoff purse at the anniversary sale over summer, and it is going to be perfect for fall. The olive green is going to go with everything and will add a pop of subtle color while still being dark enough to be considered a neutral. Such a perfect find! My exact purse is sold out, but I love this neutral olive Rebecca Minkoff bag [ HERE ] and this super similar one, also olive, [ HERE ].
This look is perfect with simple earrings and a choker. I love these gold sparkle studs [ HERE ] for under $19…I wear these almost every day! Perfect for work to play. I love this choker because it has pretty little gold metal beads hanging off of it, so it’s a little more fun and interesting than just a basic leather cord choker. You can check out what I’m talking about [ HERE ]…and you can also wear it as a bracelet!
