- A couple years ago, Shel and I were Doug Funny and Patty Mayonnaise…it was pretty easy! He wore goofy cargo khaki shorts, a white tee, and a green sweater vest (I got a green sweater and cut off the sleeves for him, LOL). I wore a skirt, a blue sweater, and high white socks. For her polka dots, I used contact paper and ironed on polka dots I cut out from an old tee shirt…resourceful!
- This year, I really want to be bad Sandy and Danny Zuko from Grease, my all time favorite musical. Like, it’s the best movie ever guys. Anyway, it’s a super easy costume once you thing about it. Black leather leggings (I have the faux leather leggings from Loft already), a black off the shoulder top (or this bodysuit from Forever 21), a black belt to cinch at the waist, and some fun red heels. It actually works out perfectly for trends right now…the faux leather and red trends are so perfect for this costume! For the boys, it’s super easy too! Black tee, black jeans, and some Converse are perfect.
Back to the Instagram round up! I’ve had some really fun looks on Instagram the past few months, and I wanted to share them with you! I picked a few fun weekend looks and a few super cute, practical, work-appropriate looks.
I work full time as a physical therapist, but that doesn’t mean I can’t look cute at work. I would love to be able to wear cute skirts, but because of my job I’m mostly styling comfortable shoes, flattering pants and slacks, and cute button-ups or sweaters. Trust me, all of these looks are tried-and-true. I’m moving around all day at work, so if these looks can stand up to that, they can stand up to anything!Hover over the pink squares on the images for links to the exact outfits I’m wearing!
Look 1 – Over the Knee Boots
These over the knee boots from Vince Camuto are so beautiful. It’s finally starting to get cold, so you are about to see these all over my Insta feed. The seams have a really pretty perforated pattern, so they are a little bit more than basic black boots. That being said, they are still chic and will carry you into seasons to come. Definitely an investment piece, but they are freaking gorgeous! I paired them with a oversized sweater here, and it just is the coziest, chicest fall to winter look!
Look 2 – Velvet Flats
I can’t wear these velvet flats from Target out without people stopping and commenting on them. Not only are they so adorable, they are super comfortable! I’ve worn these during a long day wine tasting and at work. They are blush velvet…what a perfect way to carry this year’s hottest color into winter! Match made in heaven…and the best part? They are from TARGET and so reasonable priced! This shot got featured on the Target Style page, so you know these are chic!
Look 3 – Leopard Mules
I wear these two to three times per week, and I have a LOT of shoes. These leopard-print mules from Halogen have been in rotation since the moment I got them. I ordered them from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, and they were backordered for MONTHS, but so worth the wait! I’m a size 7.5 to 8, and I ordered 8 in these and they are perfect!
Look 4 – Tie-Front Button Up
I love this super structured but playful tie-front button up! It’s perfect for wear with cute jeans for fall and with slacks for work. I’m so obsessed…and it’s another Target find available for a super amazing price! I love wearing it with my hair in a bun…which happens often considering I HATE washing my hair…yet it still looks like I’m uber put-together. If that doesn’t make it the perfect blouse, I don’t know what does, LOL.
Look 5 – Faux Leather Skirt
Don’t mind me, just casually chilling by a lake. Funny story: I live in the bay area (which is starting to get cold), so I took a chill pill on my fake tanner and let my pale legs shine (literally). Then, I found out that when I was going to the mountains with my family in southern California, it would be over 80 freaking degrees. What? But I don’t have time to tan! Anyway, I gave up and let my legs shine bright like a diamond for the world to see in this AMAZING faux leather skirt from Loft. It’s a deep burgundy, and I can’t wait to pair it with those black over the knee booties I talked about in the first picture.
Look 6 – Bell-sleeve Sweater
Another work appropriate look! Disclaimer: I got these white leather loafers from Italy (how snooty does that sound?), but I love white loafers for this season! I tagged these white Freda Salvador mules for you, because I think they are gorgeous! This cozy Loft sweater is one of my favorite new sweaters…size up if you want an oversized fit!
