It’s the holidays and it’s time for some gift guides – specifically, a gift guide for the men in your life! I thought I’d start with the most challenging…what the heck do you get the man in your life?! Whether it’s for your hubby, boyfriend, dad, brother, or son…I’ve got you covered with this list. Sheldon was a big collaborator for this gift guide, so these items are straight off of his wishlist (or something I’ve already gotten him)!
Buying a present for the guy in your life can be a tough one. These days, most people just buy what they need as they need it…it’s too easy with Amazon, am I right? So the trick is to get something that will: a) make their life easier, and/or b) get them something they didn’t even know they needed. That’s the inspiration for this gift guide. Some of the items are more budget friendly and some are big-ticket Christmas presents. No matter what you’re looking for, I’ve got the right gift for you here!
I’ve got a good mix of gift ideas for you here. We have gifts for the cocktail connoisseur, the sports fan, the foodie, and the fashion forward fella. Read through this gift guide and get your Christmas shopping off to a good start! Click on each image to shop it!
1. ALEX’S OPENER
This bottle opener is the perfect gift for any guy enjoys a good beer (or two). A good friend of the family makes these and personalizes them with an engraving. You put your fingers through the holes and turn your hand into a bottle opener…can it get more manly? LOL. Sheldon LOVES his.
2. LASER CUT WOOD MAP
Allbirds are wool sneakers that are SUPER comfortable. They come in these cool sneakers or a lounge slip-on (for both men and women). There are a ton of colors to choose from and they are so soft. They are also machine washable…crazy! I don’t know how, but I’ll take it!
4. TOOLS AND A TOOLBOX
My hubby is a handy guy, and over the years he’s been collecting tools from both of our families. The first (and most used) tool he got was a power drill. He got this DeWalt Power Drill, but told me the Makita Power Drills are “sick.” That means he covets them in Sheldon speak.
5. GOLF CLUBS
If he’s a golfer (or aspiring golfer), a good set of clubs is great if you’re looking into a big ticket item. I got Sheldon this a Callaway set a few years ago. It’s a pretty basic set, but he can add the other clubs as he goes (and as he gets better). This Callaway Strata Set is a great starter kit and has the basics you need to golf…I actually have the women’s version of this set!
Because there will never be a time in history that men don’t need new underwear. That’s just a fact. These Calvin Klein boxer briefs are (apparently) so comfortable. If they’re good enough for David Beckham, they’re good enough for my hubby! LOL
These are year-round comfy shoes for the husband. Technically boat shoes, these are the perfect in-between for that casual to business casual look that most guys here in the San Francisco Bay Area have. They also come in tons of colors, from the classic boat shoe, the leather sneaker, and the casual fabric shoe. Don’t forget the no-show socks to go with them.
8. SHAVE CLUB
Monthly razor shipments have been lifesaving for Sheldon…so much so that I eventually jumped on the band wagon. I like Harry’s Shave Club. You can buy razors and gift sets a la carte OR jump in and get the monthly subscription…and I recommend it!
9. JOGGERS (AKA MAN YOGA PANTS)
These literally are man yoga pants, because joggers a bit more presentable than big sweatpants (he can run to the store and pick you up some ice cream in these without looking too scraggly). They’re super soft and cozy and great for those lazy Sundays in.
10. FANCY DRINKWARE
11. UGG SLIPPERS
I love my Ugg slippers, so it didn’t take much to convince Sheldon he needs a pair. Great for walking the dog or just keeping those tootsies warm and toasty, slippers are a classic (and useful) Christmas present!
12. BROQUET GIFT BOX
I honestly didn’t know this was a thing until Sheldon brought it up to me. It’s basically a box filled with goodies! You can get the bacon lover’s gift basket, the sriracha themed gift box, the breakfast in bed gift crate, and SO many more. Check out the rest of the Broquets here for many more options!
13. GOOD BOOZE
What is his favorite cocktail? Do some research on a nice, high-end bottle of his favorite alcohol, and put it under the tree with all the ingredients to his favorite drink. Super specialized and something he’ll appreciate! I love this gin mixology flavoring kit to spice up Sheldon’s gin and tonics.
14. COCKTAIL KIT
Since we’re on the subject of the bar…get him a nice shaker and cocktail tool set so he can become a master mixologist at home! This matte black one is super cool looking. It also comes in a copper option. This version comes with a bamboo base to store everything on.
15. LEATHER MESSENGER BAG
I got Sheldon a leather messenger bag for our anniversary, and he loves it for work! It definitely ups his style game at work! I got him this classic Fossil leather messenger bag.
Sheldon’s not the biggest book fan (whereas I am an avid reader), but I’ve been able to find a few great books he’s loved. I got him the Mike Pereira book (perfect for football fans) and he’s been very excited about that. He also LOVED The Martian way more than he thought he would. For the business-minded guy, Sheldon recommends Delivering Happiness by the CEO of Zappos.
17. BASKETBALL HOOP FOR WORK
Sheldon specifically asked me to add this to the gift guide because it is so necessary. He has a basketball hoop at work and it’s a nice way to fidget while on a phone call, I guess. He also told me to put a fidget spinner on this list…I said no, LOL!
Another classic gift idea. Always necessary, and always appreciated. There are so many color combinations and brands, but my favorite for Sheldon are G.H. Bass & Co. Fireside flannels. They are just so darn soft and warm, and they last a long time! Here are my favorites.
19. AG PANTS
AG Graduate SUD Straight Leg Pants are the only work pants I buy Sheldon. They get softer and softer with each wash, come in a million colors, and are perfect for work to weekend. Worth every penny, and he gets complimented on them all the time.
20. BEATS HEADPHONES
Sheldon really wants the new water and sweat resistant Beats Powerbeats3 Wireless Headphones for working out. He’s blown out a few sets of headphones while working out, so these heavy duty wireless headphones should be just what we need!
21. AMAZON ECHO
We have the Echo Look (which is amazing for planning the blog, let me tell you), but we want the Echo Show so we can use it to talk to friends and family. The new, basic Echo looks so cool too and comes in like six colors! I want to collect them all and have Alexa do my bidding!
22. DIY HOT SAUCE KIT
This kit looks so fun! Any guy who likes his hot sauce will love being able to create his own! This make you own hot sauce kit comes with a ton of different chili packets so he can mix and match to his preference!
23. PUSH PIN MAP
I got this for Sheldon for our first anniversary. It’s a beautiful world map that comes with push pins, and as you travel to new places together, you put more pins in the map! We’re working on adding more pins to our map every year!
The sportula is a great gift for the sports guy who is die hard for his team. It’s a spatula for grilling with his favorite sports team on it…SPORTula. LOL. This Sportula has options for the NFL, college teams, you name it!
25. WOOD WATCH
A super fun watch that you can personalize for him! I have a whole post about how perfect these are PLUS a 25% off discount for you for one of these beautiful watches! Read about why wood watches are the best gift here.
