Writing these travel diary posts makes me so happy and so sad at the same time! So happy because it was so fun, and so sad because I’m not still in Italy! This week, I’m focusing on our days in Florence. If you missed my post on our time in Rome, be sure to catch up!
Florence is the capital of the region of Tuscany and also the birthplace of the Renaissance. The art and culture is around every corner in Florence, and it’s truly a beautiful place. It’s also PACKED with Italian leather stores (oh, I indulged).
I loved Florence for the food (like the rest of Italy, lol) and the art. It truly is a beautiful city with so much history. Several of our days in Florence were JAM PACKED with museums and all day walking. Florence was also definitely a little more crowded than Rome was…not too many places to take outfit photos! But that’s okay, I still have plenty to share with you!
Day 1 – Explore
Day 2 – The Uffizi, the Galileo Museum, and the Duomo
After a long day, it was time to FEAST! We started out with drinks at Mad Souls & Spirits and then went to the amazing Osteria del Cinghiale Bianco on the recommendation of Jessica of Orange Juniper Jewelry. All I can say is, if you are in Florence, you have to go to this restaurant! It was so delicious!
Day 3 – More Museums, David, and Food Tour!
After all of that, we went on our Eating Italy food tour through Florence…which was again AMAZING. I highly recommend this company for any travel to Italy…they are going to start a Venice tour soon, but unfortunately it wasn’t up and running by the time we got there (oh well, we’ll just have to go back)!
Day 4 – Wander (& Hide from the Rain)
We went to lunch at a delicious restaurant that Sheldon’s friends had recommended, and ordered WAY too much fun and…well, we were those Americans. People were actually staring at us! I was embarassed…but it was totally worth it to eat myself silly!
The next day, we were off to Venice! Look out for that post, next in my Travel Diaries series. Lost? Read about our Rome Travel Diaries!
Catch up on my recent posts! I posted about our Pumpkin Patch Fail and a pretty peplum top just a few days ago…I LOVE peplum for fall! Also, if you’re feeling a little blue that Halloween is over, you can check out some of my favorite scary-ish movies to keep you in the spooky spirit just a little longer! I also still have an Instagram Round-Up from my fave September and October looks from the ‘gram still live on the blog. And I still can’t stop talking about my obsession with Milk Makeup.
