Things I love: athleisure, comfy clothes, and not having to leave my house. Enter: Yoga Club. When I learned about Yoga Club, I was so excited for a few reasons. First, I love exercise and cute workout clothes. Second, I LOVE subscription services, especially quality ones. Finally, Yoga Club does good work – for every box that goes out, Yoga Club sponsors a yoga class for at-risk communities. Such a unique and wonderful thing!
Let’s talk about exercise. I’m sure that about 99.99% of you have lofty exercise goals for the new year (me too)! And I’m all about anything that will make achieving those goals easier. I haven’t done yoga regularly in several years; I typically stick to barre and spin classes. That being said, I mentioned my need for calm in my last post about this leopard cardigan, and yoga fits into that larger goal for me.
I’ve always been active, and my twenties have been all about finding new and fun ways to exercise. There is one thing that I hate doing…and as a physical therapist this is so embarrassing to admit…I HATE stretching. It’s so important to overall fitness and injury prevention! I think for a long time I’ve been focused on how I can burn the most calories in the smallest amount of time, and I can tell you that is NOT the way to go. As a PT, I can tell you that is the fast track to injury. If you’re not varying up your activity, you are putting yourself at risk of getting hurt. You can’t just run, or just do spin classes…your body isn’t getting the flexibility and strengthening it needs!
In the past, I’ve worked on balancing out my spin classes with barre classes. This year, I’ve started on trying to run, and I feel like a perfect balance to that (while working on mindfulness) is yoga. So here I was, super excited to get back to yoga, with my new threads from Yoga Club, and decided to try a down dog position to get back to stretching more. I held it for a couple minutes…and I was so sore. HA! So my yoga practice is a bit rusty, but I’m ready to get back to it.
YOGA CLUB LOOK
I’m obsessed with this look that my stylist at Yoga Club put together for me! The best part is that all of the pieces are name brand and at a fraction of the cost! Let me tell you how it works. First, you have three options for the type of box you get:
- The Mantra: one pair of leggings for $45 per month (savings of $25-$55)
- The Karma: two piece outfit for $69 per month (savings of $30-$70)
- The Guru: three pieces outfit for $79 per months (savings of $60-$100)
Once you pick your box (mine is the Guru), you take a short quiz so your stylist can pick out the perfect pieces for you. For reference, on my quiz I selected more blacks and whites versus bright colors. If you’re into bright, fun colors for working out, those options are there!
Once you take your quiz, that’s it. Your stylist does the rest and gets the box to you.
My box was so wonderful. First of all, subscription boxes are MY JAM; even my dog has one (we’re all about that life). Second, the quality of the clothing is amazing. My leggings are just perfect for barre or yoga. They’re super light and breathable, and so comfortable with the perfect mesh detailing. My top is also this fun low-back situation to show off a strappy sports bra. And finally, my little yoga sweater is amazing. I wouldn’t necessarily pick out this pattern, but once it was on I was so glad my stylist picked it for me!
Amazing, right?! Better yet, if you use my code ASH20, you get 20% off your first box, just head to the Yoga Club website to redeem your code!
