This leopard cardigan is so pretty, and I am so excited to share it with you! While I was putting this post together, I started thinking about cute titles about the wild side of this cardigan, but then this past (CRAZY) week happened. So instead, this post is about being calm DESPITE all the wild craziness that is life.
Like I said, it’s been a bit of a crazy week. We’ve started this year with some challenges, and I can feel my natural, frazzled tendencies starting to tug at me. On top of that, I worked this past weekend. I’m a physical therapist, and at my facility we rotate weekend shifts working in the hospital. It’s never bad, but it always just throws me off of my routine. So this week has been a week of instability.
Usually, this is where I unravel. Not like I fall apart in a mess or cry like a baby or anything, but my life organization just implodes. It’s so easy for my mind to race through all of my to-dos and get just so frazzled, and usually I just do it to myself. I’m sure so many of you can relate. Most of my stress comes from the pressure I place on myself and not having my thoughts organized.
I’m going to let you in on something about me: I may be the queen of napping, but RARELY do I sleep through the night. It’s awful. I can’t shut my stupid mind down. The past few months have been pretty rough with that, too.
So I’ve started doing something the past week to start settling my mind. And guys…it’s working so well. It’s totally something I would not normally do, but now that I’ve started trying it, I’m obsessed!
My big fix? I started meditating. Again, meditation is NOT something I usually would even think of trying, but I downloaded the Calm app on my phone and started doing all of the free meditations on there. And initially, I thought, “There’s no way I can get my mind to shut off,” but I learned that isn’t the point. It’s about focus and concentration. I also think that just setting aside 10 minutes to do absolutely nothing but concentrate on yourself is a great way to clear out your mind.
Now that we’ve got the calm mind, we can focus on this wild look. Leopard print isn’t going anywhere, and this leopard cardigan is great for work and play. It can be layered over a tee or a cute shift dress for a cozy but chic look. My exact cardigan is sold out, but I found some dead ringers for you!
Do you think you’ll try meditation? Or do you have some other techniques for relaxation and mindfulness? Let me know in the comments!
