Is anyone else feeling like their wallet is a little empty after this holiday season? I know I am! Unfortunately, I still have expensive taste. I am so excited to share a solution to this problem…because let’s be real, we always want the best. I partnered with thredUP in Walnut Creek to share easy and fun thrift shopping for designer, quality pieces! I’m so happy to partner with them and show you how to thrift shop RIGHT plus how to donate clothes and KNOW it will all go to a good place!
I’ve never been great at thrift shopping, but going to thredUP’s first brick and mortar in Walnut Creek was an incredible experience! First of all, the store is GORGEOUS. If you are local to the Bay Area, you have to come check it out! It’s a beautiful, bright and airy space that is so chic and relaxing…PERFECT for a fun shopping experience.
My goal with shopping at thredUP in Walnut Creek was to browse their designer section, bags, and jeans. These sections were amazing, but the whole store was filled with awesome finds. I particularly was in love with all of the gorgeous lace dresses…note to self: returning to shop before wedding season!
Sprinkled throughout the store were a bunch of screens to online shop. thredUP started as an online retailer, so there are screens all through the store allow you to shop their massive online collection on top of their in-store selection.
The BEST part of thredUP for me is that it is a San Francisco based company. I love supporting local companies, especially those like thredUP. On top of that, the staff that was there to welcome my friend and I were so amazing. The sweetest, cutest women who were all so fun, positive, and helpful.
I wanted to share my pretty finds from my fun thredUP experience with you here!
MY thredUP FINDS
I found some AMAZING pieces for some serious discounts! I want to share these super flattering jeans and my cute date night outfit!
These super comfy J Brand jeans are PERFECT for a laid-back weekend look. They are so cozy and feel like leggings. These pants retailed for almost $200…and I got them for $36! How insane we those savings?! Click here to see the full selection of J Brand jeans on the thredUP website!
I have been ON THE HUNT for the perfect flared jeans for months. I just love the look and they will be just gorgeous for spring wine tasting trips! I snagged this pair of Joie jeans for under $40…and they’re also regularly around $200. I’ve basically made money on this exchange (at least that’s what I’m telling my husband). Checkout thredUP’s Joie selection for more incredible finds.
I wanted to share my last find with this cute date night look! I found this Current/Elliott boyfriend top for $45, and it regularly retails for $200! WHAT?! So many deals guys! HOW TO DONATE TO thredUP
thredUP makes it SO EASY to donate clothes and get a small kickback if they choose to resell your pieces! Amazing!
You just go in to the thredUP Walnut Creek store or request a Clean Out Kit online. Then, fill it with all of the clothes you’ve cleaned out and send it in! You can opt for a straight-up donation bag, and standard bag (where they will pay you for some items), and an expedited bag. For the standard bag, they will send you money for what they choose to buy and resell, and everything else they will donate directly to charities. I typically donate to Goodwill, but I learned while I was as at thredUP that much of Goodwill’s donations go into landfills if they can’t sell it, which so bums me out. With thredUP, you either get a bit of dough for your clothes OR know that they are being donated to a charity and put to good use. So important and amazing.
If you want to shop thredUP, you can go to their online store and shop right now! If you’re local, come to the thredUP Walnut Creek location (let me know so I can come, lol)! They’re having an amazing Galentine’s event on Saturday, February 10. RSVP on their Facebook page to head to this exclusive event, eat treats, drink cocktails, and cuddle with dogs (because there will be dogs there. Ideal). Follow thredUP Walnut Creek on Instagram for their weekly shipment unboxing so you can check out the pieces they have in store. So fun!
